Zaman Dance Theatre Collective is committed to a diverse, humanistic, and globally astute exploration of the arts. Our philosophical premise is "transformative art", with a mission to foster artistic exploration and social change, through narrative performance, arts education and community engagement.
Comprised of dancers, actors, vocalists and performance poets, participating artists have performed and taught throughout the USA, Europe, Canada, the Caribbean and the continent of Africa.
In 2015, the company debuted Cries of Atrocity, an interdisciplinary response to injustice throughout the 20th century. In 2016, the company debuted its workshop performance of Femoirs, a dance theatre work presenting perceptions of women and feminism. Zaman Dance Theatre Collective is the host company of Modern Renaissance X (emerging artist showcase) and the Essex County MetroWest Dance Festival. The company offers a variety of performance, educational, and outreach programs.
